Eat, Pray, Live
At YZU, we are committed to fostering a Muslim-friendly environment where students can thrive both academically and spiritually. Our international food cafeteria offers a wide selection of Muslim-friendly dining options, such as no pork and no lard dishes, catering to diverse dietary needs.
The on-campus minimarket also provides a variety of vegetarian and Muslim-friendly products for added convenience. For prayer, Mushallas are located in several buildings across campus and in each of the male and female international student dormitories, ensuring that students living on campus can comfortably observe their prayers without needing to leave the premises. Additionally, restrooms are equipped with bidets to facilitate personal hygiene in accordance with Islamic practices. At YZU, we aim to create an inclusive environment that supports the lifestyle and values of our Muslim community.
International Environment
We take pride in YZU being the first institution in Taiwan to receive the highest national quality honor, a testament to our commitment to excellence. Our campus is home to a vibrant and diverse international community, with students from over 60 countries enriching our academic and cultural environment.
Among them are Muslim students from 10 countries, including Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Russia, and many more, contributing to the university's multicultural fabric. At YZU, inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. We are dedicated to fostering a welcoming, supportive atmosphere where all students, regardless of their background, can thrive without fear of discrimination. Here, diversity is celebrated, and every student is valued.
Around Campus
We understand that a vibrant and accessible environment is key to a fulfilling student experience, especially for our Muslim community. Offering a peaceful place for prayer and reflection, Longgang Mosque is located at an accessible distance from campus. The mosque was built in 1967 and is the 5th mosque built in Taiwan. For your daily needs, a range of Muslim-friendly and halal restaurants and stores are conveniently located, ensuring easy access to dining options that align with Islamic values.
Getting around is effortless, with bus stops inside the campus area that connect you to nearby supermarkets, hospitals, and other essential services. Whether you are traveling locally or internationally, the train station and airport are just a short ride away, making YZU a hub of both academic excellence and also real-world convenience. We are not just a campus, we are a community where your lifestyle is embraced and supported every step of the way.
