Our curriculum is learner-centered, providing humanistic nursing education. It focuses on developing students' professional skills, practical abilities, and holistic care capabilities. We offer courses related to elderly and community care to train home care professionals. Courses in nursing informatics, evidence-based nursing, and biostatistics are designed to cultivate effective nursing practitioners. Additionally, we integrate courses in wearable device programming, AI, and smart nursing. Our curriculum planning integrates knowledge from various fields within the life sciences, biotechnology, and engineering disciplines. The required courses include seminar discussions, biochemical engineering, cell biology, biochemistry, and microbiology. Electives are also available.

A special interdisciplinary course has been designed for graduate students named Summer Preparatory Laboratory.
It includes experiments in microbiology, biotechnology, microbial genetics, and biochemical engineering. Students are guided to solve problems and understand how university education can be applied to biotechnology. This course has the following innovative features:

A significant revision has been made to the course content, which has been significantly revised from traditional tool-oriented practical courses. Each course and class is taught independently. Although students can acquire the necessary skills in this process, it is difficult to have a complete understanding. A problem-oriented laboratory course is the focus of this project, and we hope that students not only gain basic biological skills, but they will also gain an understanding of how these basic biological skills can be combined with what they already know to improve their self-thinking capability and solve instructor-assigned problems.

Integration of three disciplines

• Microbiology
  Microbiology is a vital part of the biotechnology industry and a key development focus at our institute. The first third of the course is devoted to microbiology, where students learn various basic microbiology techniques and search for strains with specific characteristics and industrial potential. 
• Microbial Genetics
  The use of microbial genetics as a method for making microbial strains more efficient will be demonstrated here in a simple experiment that allows microbes to produce useful enzymes and further purify them while undergoing analysis and purification. 
• Engineering of biochemical processes
  Using industrial production strains as examples, biochemical engineering students are taught how to operate fermenters and find the most productive production conditions.

Industry interaction
As part of the course, we incorporate problems encountered by academic-industry cooperation projects, guiding students to consider possible solutions.

Graduate School of Biotechnology and Bioengineering is taught in 75-89% English.
