Join us and ride the wave of technology to forge ahead bravely if you are fascinated by technology, curious about the world around you, and have the desire to invent and take on challenges!

How does the Department of Electrical Engineering (Program A) prepare students for careers in the industry?

The current generation requires more than profound theoretical knowledge. Employers seek talents with diverse interdisciplinary skills, foreign language abilities, and innovative and independent thinking. With Yuan Ze University's flexible course system, students can take courses that are relevant to their interests and integrate what they have learned with a wide range of opportunities.

Do you know that the Department of Electrical Engineering can do so much more than you imagined?

Everything is possible by overcoming imagination's barriers and recognizing creativity's potential. Some people believe that the Department of Electrical Engineering will only shine in the technology industry in the future. In fact, with sufficient ability and creativity, you can excel in any field. It is possible to reduce labor demand and increase production efficiency by using smart agriculture, for instance, combining logistics network sensing, monitoring, and automation, while simultaneously protecting the environment and conserving the environment. Creating more possibilities is possible when you have the desire to make the future better.

What makes YZU's Department of Electrical Engineering (Program A) different?
The department's academic reputation has reached internationally renowned universities. The Department of electrical engineering and information technology has ranked in the top 200 in recent years in the evaluation of research paper quality by world universities. The department has also received certification from the Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET) and its degrees are recognized by member countries of the Washington Accord (WA), providing students with broad and unlimited career opportunities in the future.

Combining professional courses with practical skills and professional practice
Comprehensive career development and immediate employability upon graduation

The most challenging aspect of pursuing an education is not understanding how to apply the theories learned. This is why Yuan Ze University emphasizes practical experience and internships in its curriculum, giving students a chance to apply their knowledge and demonstrate their capabilities. Through these experiences, students can better understand their strengths and weaknesses, and gain a competitive edge in the job market upon graduation.

Developing foreign language skills and enhancing global awareness
YZU continuously enhances students' English proficiency in response to internationalization trends. In addition to the mandatory 12 credits of English general education courses, students are required to take professional courses taught in English. This allows them to continuously improve their English proficiency throughout their four years of study. Moreover, students can participate in international exchange programs with various departments. By participating in international exchange programs, students can interact with international peers, adapt to an English-speaking environment, and improve their ability to speak foreign languages. These experiences also serve as a valuable asset to enhance their resumes for future career opportunities.

Elite talent training according to age and ability
Undergraduate Electrical Engineering education emphasizes a solid foundation in theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Our goal is to prepare students to solve real-world problems, to understand the importance of interpersonal relationships and teamwork, and to become valuable members of society. Electrical engineering graduate education emphasizes cultivating advanced research and development talent. Different areas of specialization are offered to strengthen the training in both theoretical and practical aspects and to develop the student's ability to conduct independent research.

Careers

The field of study in electrical engineering is broad, and graduates have a wide range of options for further studies or career paths, such as biomedical engineering, electronic engineering, electrical engineering, control engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, power systems engineering, communication engineering, optoelectronic engineering, and more. Some suitable career options include:

  • Hardware development engineer - responsible for designing hardware, such as integrated circuits (ICs).
