After receiving your acceptance letter or admission permit, you can proceed to apply for a residence visa at the Republic of China (Taiwan) mission or representative office in your home country or neighboring country. (please refer to the website of the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs for more information.)；

If you are an exchange student or short-term research student planning to stay in Taiwan for less than 180 days, you may apply for a visitor visa or enter Taiwan visa-free (visa-free conditions and duration of stay vary for different countries, please directly contact the Representative Office of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in your home country or neighboring country for specific information).

International Students:

1. Passport, Taiwan Visa, and e-ticket.
   
2. 20 pieces of 2-inch photos.
3. Original copy of the highest educational degree certificate from the foreign institution and the official transcript of the program (authenticated and stamped by the Taiwan mission or representative office in the country where the graduating institution is located).
4. Health certificate.
   
5. Proof of financial support (e.g., bank statements or financial documents).
6. Addresses and contact phone numbers.
7. Other required documents.

Overseas Chinese Students:

1. Passport
2. Taiwan Visa
3. Passport-sized photos: 3 two-inch photos, 2 one-inch photos (for passport use)
4. Notification from the Hong Kong and Macau Overseas Chinese Student Association or YZU Acceptance Letter
5. Original copy of the highest educational degree certificate from the foreign institution and the official transcript of the program (authenticated and stamped by the Taiwan mission or representative office in the country where the graduating institution is located).
6. Emergency Authorization Consent Form

2. Return Home Permit (for individuals born in Mainland China)

1. Alien Resident Certificate (ARC)

   1. For those entering with a resident visa, it will be handled by the school for the first year, with a validity period of one year.

   2. If there are changes in address, passport expiration, or nearing expiration of the resident visa,  are required to handle the extension or update of information by yourselves. Failure to do so may result in fines or the need to leave Taiwan imposed by the National Immigration Agency.

2. Work permit
   
   1. Foreign students who have completed registration and hold a valid Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) can apply for a work permit, which is valid for 6 months. Foreign students who work without a valid work permit will be considered as engaging in illegal employment, and the Ministry of Labor may impose fines.

   2. Except for winter and summer vacations, the maximum working hours are limited to 20 hours per week.

YZU Transportation Information

◎Taking the Train

Heading South → Neili Train Station

Board the train at any station north of Neili Station and take the local train to Neili Station (or take an express train to Zhongli or Taoyuan Station and transfer to a local train or bus).

Heading North → Neili Train Station

Board the train at any station south of Neili Station and take the local train to Neili Station (or take an express train to Zhongli or Taoyuan Station and transfer to a local train or bus).

Neili Station to Yuan Ze University

Walk north (right) for about five minutes until you see a sign indicating Yuan Ze University at the intersection of Zhonghua Road and Yuandong Road. Turn right, cross the level crossing, and continue walking on the right side for about ten minutes to reach the university.

◎Taking the Bus

Bus 155, 156

Take Bus 155 or 156 from Zhongli Station directly to Yuan Ze University.

Bus 1

Take Bus 1 from Zhongli or Taoyuan Station. Get off at Yuan Ze University Station (heading from Zhongli to Taoyuan) or Neili Train Station (heading from Taoyuan to Zhongli). Walk along Zhonghua Road towards Taoyuan until you reach the intersection of Yuandong Road and Zhonghua Road. Turn right, cross the level crossing, and continue walking on the right side for about ten minutes to reach the university.

Bus 208

From Taoyuan High-Speed Rail Station, take Bus 208 operated by Union Bus Company and get off at Yuan Ze University Station.

Yuan Ze University is located in Taoyuan City, northern Taiwan. It is only a 30-minute drive from Taoyuan International Airport and a 15-minute walk from the train station. The surrounding area includes Neili District, Zhongyuan District, Zhongli District, and Taoyuan District, making it a very convenient environment.

Food: Right next to the student dormitories, there is a food court with over 10 food vendors for you to choose from, including vegetarian options.

Clothing: Tianhe Bookstore, located near the activity center, operates in a hybrid manner and has a well-lit interior. In addition to selling stationery, books, and clothing, the bookstore also offers light meals and coffee services!

Accommodation: There are separate male and female dormitories with independent internet access points. Coin-operated laundry machines, dryers, and drinking water dispensers are available to meet your accommodation needs.

Recreation: The leisure center provides a well-equipped recreational and sports environment near the dormitory area. In addition to an indoor heated swimming pool, there is also a fitness area covering approximately 100 square meters and a multifunctional sports classroom.

• YZU will announce the “Freshman Guide” in mid or late July/January. The admitted new students must come to the university to complete the registration and admission procedure on the scheduled day or notify about their absence and get approved. Otherwise they will be disqualified for admission.
• The relevant regulations for credit transfer are handled in accordance with Yuan Ze University’s credit transfer regulation and the credit transfer regulations of each department.
• In order to understand the health status of students, according to Article 8 of the School Health Act and Article 7 of the Yuan Ze University Academic Principles, new students should participate in the health examination conducted by the school when they enter the school.
• After registration, students should take relevant courses and other regulations in accordance with the requirements of each department before they are eligible for graduation.
• Students applying for withdrawal or suspension of the university after the payment of registration fees may apply for a refund in accordance with Article 15 of "Procedures for College and University Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees Collection" established by the Ministry of Education.

   The registration and payment period for remote registration is approximately one month before the start of classes until two weeks after the start of classes. You can bring the payment documents (downloadable from the portal) and pay at convenience stores, post offices, and financial institutions nationwide.

Before coming to Taiwan, we will conduct a survey to survey your interest in on-campus housing. If you wish to apply for a dormitory, please pay attention to the school's announcements.
