Yuan Ze University, SASTRA Deemed University, and Delta Electronics India Pvt. Ltd. have launched an international industry-academia talent development program, with the opening ceremony held on September 18. This program has selected 10 outstanding master's students from SASTRA University, specializing in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and data science. These students will spend a year at Yuan Ze University’s College of Electrical Engineering and Communication, focusing on hands-on learning and applications of intelligent automation technologies. In addition to sponsoring the students’ travel to Taiwan, Delta is also providing scholarships, internships, and employment opportunities.
Yuan Ze University President, Dr. Liao Ching-Jong, highlighted that this partnership with Delta marks a significant milestone in the university’s internationalization and practical education efforts. With its strong background in engineering and technology, Yuan Ze University aligns this program with the needs of industry. He also emphasized that India represents a key potential market for international student recruitment, and through this collaboration, the university aims to cultivate more globally competitive talent.
Benjamin Lin, President of Delta India, stressed that as manufacturing continues to grow in southern India, nurturing automation talent is crucial to the success of the "Make in India" initiative. He noted that Yuan Ze University boasts strong research and development outcomes and excellent Chinese language learning resources, while SASTRA University’s School of Engineering excels in AI and robotics. By combining Delta’s expertise in industrial robotics, automation control systems, and AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) applications with hands-on training, the program will enable students to deeply understand the core technologies behind intelligent manufacturing and automation. He expressed hope that after graduation, these students will join Delta and use their technical knowledge, along with their proficiency in Mandarin, English, and Tamil, to drive automation at Delta’s Krisnagri plant, further enhancing the company's competitiveness in smart manufacturing.
Padama Priyaa, a representative of the SASTRA University students selected for the program, expressed her gratitude for being chosen as one of Delta’s key trainees. As part of the first cohort, she is committed to fully dedicating herself to learning the professional skills, Mandarin, and understanding Delta’s corporate culture, with the hope of contributing to Delta India after completing the program.
