The Hong Kong Guidance Teachers Association visited Yuan Ze University to promote Hong Kong-Taiwan educational exchanges

The Hong Kong Guidance Teachers' Association was invited by the Chinese Youth Exchange Association to visit Taiwan from April 9th to April 12th, 2023. On April 12th, before returning to Hong Kong, they made their final stop at Yuan Ze University.

The Hong Kong Guidance Teachers' Association delegation was led by Chairperson Ho Yuk Fan, who is also the Principal of Caritas Secondary School. They were accompanied by 16 Hong Kong secondary school principals and guidance teachers. They were received at Yuan Ze University by Secretary-General Zheng Tingwen of the Chinese Youth Exchange Association, Project Director Chu Wen-Chieh of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, and Deputy Director Liao Chao-Keng. Yuan Ze University was represented by Vice Director Le Ting of the Global Affairs Office, Dean Alex Wei of the Industry Liaison College, and the Director Weng Hua-Hung of the AACSB Office of the College of Management. Four Hong Kong students from different departments were also invited to participate in the discussion.

Secretary-General Zheng Tingwen of the Chinese Youth Exchange Association stated that the purpose of the visit to Yuan Ze University was due to the College of Management at Yuan Ze University obtaining AACSB International accreditation and being the first "New Bilingual" university in Taiwan, which attracted the attention of the visiting delegation.

During the discussion, Vice Director Le Ting of the Global Affairs Office introduced Yuan Ze University in a friendly Cantonese manner. She highlighted its profile, support from the Far Eastern Group, and interdisciplinary academic exchanges. Dean Wei shared the university's vision and planning for student careers and internships. Director Weng shared the efforts made over the past decade to build the College of Management into a globally accredited business school, receiving recognition from the guests present.

Symposium communication between the two sides

In addition, Principal Ho Yuk Fan invited four Hong Kong students from Yuan Ze University to share their learning experiences and features. One student from the College of Management shared that the courses in the College of Management were dynamic. There were even report assignments conducted in the form of acting, providing a free and diverse learning platform. Another student from the College of Informatics shared that they decided to pursue a master's degree after working, as they saw that Yuan Ze University's curriculum design was more aligned with students' careers and recognized the school's efforts in internship programs, which is why they chose to study at Yuan Ze University among the many options in the field of informatics.

Principal Ho Yuk Fan expressed that although she had not visited Yuan Ze University before, she had heard that the campus was beautiful. After the visit today, she discovered that not only was the campus beautiful, but the university's educational strength and resources were also solid. She invited professors from Yuan Ze University to visit various universities in Hong Kong.

Although the exchange was only for a short hour, the visiting delegation was deeply impressed by Yuan Ze University. They look forward to more exchange opportunities in the future and Yuan Ze's recognition in Hong Kong!
