Ariel University, represented by Vice President Itzhaq Shai, Director of Research and Development Orit Tassa, Research Project Coordinator Efrat Katz, and Taiwanese Ph.D. student Benjamin Yang, visited Yuan Ze University to understand Taiwan's higher education system and Yuan Ze University's research capabilities. They also sought to explore opportunities for future academic collaborations between the two institutions.
President Liao Ching-Jung of Yuan Ze University expressed that the visiting delegation from the sister university had planned to visit various research centers and laboratories at the university. They also engaged in discussions with Yuan Ze professors regarding future collaboration plans. These plans included establishing exchange scholar programs, graduate student internship programs, and joint research projects between Taiwan and Israel. These initiatives aim to promote academic exchanges between the two universities, showcasing their great research capabilities and fostering cooperative and friendly educational partnerships.
Itzhaq Shai, Vice President of Ariel University and Dean of the Research and Development Institute, expressed that Yuan Ze University is the only partner university of Ariel University in Taiwan. The delegation was deeply impressed by the teaching and research achievements of Yuan Ze University. They extended their gratitude for the arranged meetings with various research centers and the hospitality of the professors. They look forward to bringing the outcomes of this visit back to Israel and continuing the development of joint research projects between the two universities.
Yuan Ze University has a total of eight research centres, including the Green Technology Research Center (Fuel Cell Center), Communication Research Center, Center for Elderly Welfare Technology, Big Data and Digital Convergence Innovation Center, Center for Smart Manufacturing and Management Innovation, Cross-Disciplinary Innovation Application Center for Artificial Intelligence, Environmental Technology Research Center, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center. The meetings with professors from six of these research centers facilitate a deeper understanding of each other's research directions and achievements, laying a solid foundation for future cooperative exchanges.
Prof Liang Yun-Chia, the Chief of the Global Affairs Office of Yuan Ze University and also the Deputy Director of the Center for Smart Manufacturing and Management Innovation, stated that hosting the delegation from Ariel University is an important part of promoting internationalization at the university. The advanced laboratory equipment and skilled techniques demonstrated by Yuan Ze University, along with successful collaborations with renowned domestic companies, showcase the outstanding research performance of Yuan Ze faculty and students.
